Women and Child Development Minister inaugurated Nutri Garden
Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani launched the series of programs under the month-long Poshan Maah 2021, on how the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda interventions can be effectively used to meet the nutritional requirement. Providing knowledge about this is the need of the hour.

Nutri Garden was inaugurated at All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) on the occasion of the beginning of Poshan Month – 2021. Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, Minister of State for AYUSH and Women and Child Development was also present on the occasion. Both the ministers also planted saplings of Shigru (horseradish) and Amla. All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi (AIIA) under the guidance of Ministry of AYUSH started the celebration of Poshan Maah – 2021.
What is Nutri Garden
Nutri Kitchen Garden / Nutri Garden is a method of planting and harvesting nutrient rich crops in or around residential homes to meet the needs of the family throughout the year. Nutri kitchen gardening can be promoted in the form of rooftop gardening, terrace gardening, vertical gardening and container gardening in urban areas. Nutri kitchen gardens can be promoted in the backyards of houses in rural areas.
What are the benefits of Nutri Garden?
It increases the availability of food and nutrients. It can act as a source of supplemental income. Harvested crops are fresh and safe (chemical free).
Alejandro Prieto wins Bird Photographer of the Year 2021 award
Mexican photographer Alejandro Prieto has won the Bird Photographer of the Year (BPOTY) 2021. He has won for capturing a photo of a large roadrunner staring at the barbed wire-clad border wall between the United States and Mexico, who looks astonished. The image is titled ‘Blocked’. The Bird Photographer of the Year winner receives a cash prize of £5,000. They were selected from 22,000 entries from 73 countries.
