Ministry of Jal Shakti launched ‘Sujalam’ campaign

The Ministry of Jal Shakti has launched a ‘100 Days Campaign’ named SUJALAM to make more and more Open Defecation Free (ODF) plus villages by undertaking waste water management at the village level. The campaign will help in the management of wastewater and, in turn, help in reviving water bodies through the construction of 10 lakh soak-pits and other greywater management activities. This campaign is part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, which started on August 25, 2021.


Ohmium Launches India’s First Green Hydrogen Electrolyzer Gigafactory

US-based Ohmium International has commissioned India’s first green hydrogen electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The factory will manufacture Proton Exchange Membrane Hydrogen Electrolyzers manufactured in India. Green hydrogen is made from non-fossil sources, while blue hydrogen is made from fossil sources. Making green hydrogen in India will provide cost benefits to the manufacturers instead of importing them.

What is Gigafactory

The Gigafactory will manufacture Proton Exchange Membrane Hydrogen Electrolysers manufactured in India, with an initial manufacturing capacity of about 500 MW per year and expanding it to 2 GW per year. The PEM hydrogen electrolyzer is the main equipment for the production of green hydrogen because it uses electricity generated from renewable resources to break down water into hydrogen and oxygen.


Ministry of Electronics and IT launches SAMRIDH program

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched “Product Innovation, Development and Growth (SAMRIDH)” program for MeitY of Start-up Accelerators. The program was inaugurated by the Union Minister of ‘MeitY’ Shri Ashwini Vaishnav.

What is SAMRIDH program

The program is being implemented by MeitY Start-up Hub (MSH). It will focus on accelerating 300 start-ups over the next three years by providing customer connect, investor connect and international immersion. Investments up to Rs 40 lakh will be provided to start-ups through selected accelerators.

Aim of the SAMRIDH program

The SAMRIDH program aims to make Indian software product start-ups a conducive platform for enhancing their products and securing investments to grow their business.


World’s highest observation wheel ‘Ain Dubai’

The world’s largest and tallest observation wheel will be unveiled on October 21, 2021 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The observation wheel, called ‘Ain Dubai’. The height is 250 meters (820 ft) high and It is located on Bluewaters Island. The record-breaking wheel is 42.5 meters (139 ft) taller than the current world’s tallest observation wheel, the ‘High Roller’ in Las Vegas, which is measuring 167.6 meters (550 ft) high.


KAZIND-21″ 5th India-Kazakhstan Joint Training Exercise

The 5th edition of the India-Kazakhstan joint training exercise, “KAZIND-21” will be conducted from August 30 to September 11, 2021 at Training Node, Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan. The joint training exercise will give a boost to bilateral ties between the armies of India and Kazakhstan. The exercise is also a platform for the Armed Forces of India and Kazakhstan to train for counter insurgency/counter-terrorism operations in mountainous, rural landscapes under the United Nations mandate.
