I) PV Sindhu Won Swiss Open Badminton Title 2022

PV Sindhu beat Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan by 21-16, 21-8 to win the women’s singles title at the Swiss Open Super 300 badminton tournament in Basel on March 27, 2022.

PV Sindhu won her second women’s singles title by defeating Thailand’s Ongbamrangphan in the final of the Swiss Open Super 300 tournament.

Playing her second successive final in the tournament, two-time Olympic medalist Sindhu defeated fourth seed Thailand’s 21-16, 21-8 in a 49-minute contest at St. Jacobshalle.

This is Sindhu’s 16th win in 17 matches against Busanan. She has lost to him only once in the 2019 Hong Kong Open. Sindhu had lost to Rio Olympic gold medalist Carolina Marin of Spain in last season’s final.

II) Karnataka approves renewable energy policy

The Karnataka State Government has approved the Karnataka Renewable Energy Policy for the period 2022-2027.

The policy aims to achieve 10 GW of renewable energy generation capacity in the state in the next five years.

By 2027, the policy aims to achieve a share of 1 GW of energy generated from rooftop solar alone.
